According to this article, perceptions based on ignorance and misinformation justify harmful public policy as long as it makes ignorant people all warm and fuzzy.

“Adding insult to injury, the majority found that “[i]f a ban on semi‐automatic guns and large‐capacity magazines reduces the perceived risk from a mass shooting, and makes the public feel safer as a result, that’s a substantial benefit.” Substantial benefit.

Apparently, making the public “feel safer” trumps actual constitutionally-protected rights.

And perceived safety seems to be more important than actual safety.

So today, 3-14, is Pi day. The network news noted this and explained Pi: take any circle and divide the length around it by the length across it and the result is Pi, 3.14…

Seriously, are “circumference” and “diameter” too hard for Americans to grasp?

Sometimes I just despair.

So Hillary used a privately owned mail server for “convenience”? Because configuring, operating and securing a mail server in your home is so easy, uh-huh. (I bet her VCR is still blinking 12:00.)

She didn’t want to have to carry “two devices” for her public and private email. Sure. Because “devices” can only handle one email account each. Uh-huh.

I don’t know who her tech advisor is but she’s seriously under-informed.

Is Rudy Giuliani right? Does Obama not love America? On balance, I have to agree.

Obama was raised and schooled in politics by people that despise America. He came into office vowing to “fundamentally change” America and has been doing so, warping it to his vision for America ever since. Once in office, he went on a world-wide apology tour asking forgiveness for America’s past (unilateral) actions. That doesn’t sound like he loves it to me. Given his changes, is America now lovable enough for him? I doubt it. He’s still feverishly changing its fundamentals.

Obama is like the wife who marries a man intending to fix him, to change him, make him better. She doesn’t really love him, she loves the husband he could be if only she could rid him of his bad qualities.

If Obama really loved America, he would not be trying to turn it into just another bankrupt banana republic, “no different than any other country.”

The only thing I’m pretty much sure Obama likes about America are its golf courses.

Heading off to the Bahamas to get away from it all, leaving behind the crime and going someplace to relax without a care in the world? Just remember: the homicide rate per 100,000 in the Bahamas is 29.8.
